incorporated had Hanstrom, along with J.D. Tinning, not installed the Hanstrom & Tinning Water Works in 1910 through his purchase of a drilling rig with which he drilled the  rst deep water well. This was a phenomenal year for Charles Hanstrom, for in 1910 he also built the  rst power plant for Hutto installing wires and poles and placing wiring in homes. Additionally, he started the  rst ice factory and was also partners with Mr. Tinning in a cotton gin.
In spite of World War I, the City of Hutto and its surrounding community had a bright future. Cotton was still king until 1929 and the collapse of the stock market. A long, hard depression had begun. The two banks at that time both closed during the Great Depression as did most of the other businesses in the city. Hutto, as a town and community, struggled through World War II.
Recently, Hutto has experienced tremendous growth, designating it as
the fastest growing city in Texas. Our ever-increasing population has given
rise to a thriving business community. Hutto’s estimated population is 26,434 according to the most recent United States Census estimates. Analysts project that our population in 2040 will well exceed 85,000.

This diverse program that offers classes, camps and certifications for students and adults in Hutto and surrounding areas. Reaching a wide range of people both young and old,women & men, artistic or athletic and so much more.
