About 1903 or 1904 he made a bargain with Lee & I that if we would grow & sell him water mellons he would see that we got the money for them provided we would buy some decent clothes & come to his Sunday School. He was a Campbellite & held Sunday Services in the old Union Church on Sunday afternoons. The church now across from the city Hall.
